| Q: |
I have health insurance. Do I need travel insurance? |
| A: |
Remember,
many tour and cruise companies offer non-refundable packages! That
means that if you get sick before your trip and have to cancel,
you lose your entire investment. In addition, many managed care
plans only cover emergency care when you're away from home. Even
care that you thought was an "emergency" might not be
covered. Many plans provide no coverage for international
travel--not even traditional Medicare will cover care outside of
the United States.
HTH's travel insurance plans include Emergency
Evacuation coverage, a benefit that primary health plans almost
never cover. If you have a medical emergency that qualifies, HTH
and its assistance partner(s) will arrange and pay for you to
be evacuated to a country and hospital that can deliver the care
you need.
And remember, purchasers of our travel insurance
products, TripProtector and TravelGap, also become members of
the HTH TravelersClub, which provides many additional benefits
to help ensure a safe and healthy trip. |
| Q: |
What does Travel Insurance Cost? |
| A: |
The price of TripProtector, which includes trip cancellation and
interruption protection, depends on the price of your trip, its
duration and your age. If you're under 55 years of age, for example,
and spent about $1500 on your trip, coverage costs just $66 (trip
duration < 32 days). Please be sure to read all details, exclusions
and limitations.
TravelGap® Vacationer (single trip)
plans are available for as little as $4.50 a day (see details,
exclusions and limitations). TravelGap® Multi-Trip
starts at approximately $8 a month (silver) and $16 a month (Gold),
for annual coverage (see details, exclusions and limitations).
TripProtector and TravelGap® are marketed through HTH
